I just uploaded the Keynote slides in PDF from the Ruby on Rails Take II presentation. They're a bit more inclusive than the first presentation I did with a closer view at Basecamp, what we did, and how it was received. It also includes code snippets that reflect the current state of the Rails framework.
It'll probably make more sense viewing this alongside the video recording of me presenting it. But since I don't know when that'll be done, I thought you might like to skim through this in the meanwhile.
I took a sneak peak at the raw video from the colloquia and it looks great!
Editing will be done Thursday, so expect the video to hit the streaming server this Monday.
I hope it will not be in RM format, I really do, cause I have been looking forward to this.
David, I have been evaluating different frameworks lately. IOWA, Borges, Arrow and Cerise to name a few. Rails is the only one I didn't have a look at. I am especially interested in your documentation. I would be glad to give feedback on that. Maybe I could point out if there is something important missing or just that everything is perfect. Also I would be glad to read and comment on the source code if appreciated. Consider this an application for beta testing ;)
The waiting is over. The video is available at
And it plays nice with Apple QuickTime.
Already through the first hour of the video and I'm hooked... As a web designer with a decent programmer repertoire, I'm hoping that Rails is the kind of development framework that I've been searching for... we'll find out in the second hour! Thanks so much for posting this. See you in Chicago.
